Brian Springer Against FAA rules, I made a VFR flight in the pattern around KATL because I wanted to try out a new purchase of Active New Sky, a weather program. I was happy with the results in that it presented real world live weather conditions. It did make the flight very challenging as I could not see the airport, or runways until I was less than 500 away from them, and less than 800 feet above them. The weather program gave me the experience of flying with real world winds, and in a thunderstorm. Other than wanting to try out the weather program, I have no idea what would have possessed me to want to do a VFR flight in that weather!
